Travel south through the Middle Atlas to Ifrane, known as the Moroccan Switzerland, then the cedar forest of Azrou and Midelt. Follow the Ziz Valley and Tafilalet palm grove to Merzouga. Ride camels at sunset into the dunes for dinner, music and a night in a desert camp.
Watch the sunrise from the dunes before visiting Rissani and its market. Continue through Touroug and Tinjdad palms to the Todra Gorges for a walk, then travel to the Dadès Valley and its Monkey Fingers rock formations.
Follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Rose Valley and Skoura toward Ouarzazate. Visit UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, then cross the 2,260 m Tizi n Tichka pass to Marrakech for your hotel or airport transfer.
